Saxophonist graduated from Frederic Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw – Poland (in the classical saxophone class of American saxophonist David Pituch), Lemmensinstituut in Leuven – Belgium (in the classical saxophone class of Dutch saxophonist Ed Bogaard) and Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels – Belgium (in the jazz saxophone class of American saxophonist John Ruocco. In Royal Conservatory in Brussels he studied also symphonic conducting with British conductor Frank Shipway.

He is the winner of many prizes and distinctions; among them the most important are: the 1st prize in European Jazz Contest in Sorgues/Avignon, France, twice finalist in  International Jazz Competition in Hoeilaart, Belgium. He was awarded the Gold Key to Career within Pomeranian Jazz Autumn. He was a scholar of Belgian Government. He received a grant from Berklee College of Music in Boston USA.

He has performed at many music festivals: Festspiele in Salzburg, Ars Musica in Brussels, Zagreb Biennale, Bonner Biennale in Bonn, Aca Festival in Majorca, Warsaw Autumn, Jazz Jamboree in Warsaw, Brussels Jazz Marathon, Jazz a Liege, and the Jazz Kroegentocht in Gent, Jazz Nord in Lille, International Azawane Laayunne –Morocco and many others.

He has performed in many places all over the world: New York (Lincoln Centre), Singapore, Lisbon, Brussels  (for King Albert II and recently for José Manuel Barosso) , Barcelona, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Zurich, Palermo, Ljubljana, Bergen, Tallinn, Amsterdam, Prague, Lille, Nantes, Angers, Klaipeda ,Riga, Bucharest etc.

He played as a soloist with many symphonic orchestras – Danish Radio Orchestra, Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra, Brussels Chamber Orchestra – Ricercare, Baltic Philharmonics in Gdansk, Philharmonics of  Białystok, Kalisz, Wałbrzych, Koszalin, Kielce, Opole, Poznań

He worked also with National Philharmonics of Warsaw, Orchestra of the National Opera in Warsaw and Orchestra of Opera “De Munt” Brussels, Ictus Ensemble-Brussels, Ensemble of the New Music – Brussels, Urban Sax-Paris and others.

He worked with many composers of contemporary music who often dedicated him their pieces – Bogusław Schaeffer, Gaston Compere, Maciej Małecki, Piotr Moss, Rafał Stradomski, Krzesimir Dębski, Edward Sielicki, Sławomir Czarnecki, Wiesław Rentowski.

In 1990-1994 as a member of Koland Orchestra he played in many shows and TV programs in USA, Switzerland, Holland and Poland.

From 1996 he works with the Belgian ensembles like  – Blindman Saxophone Quartet, which has honourable title Cultural Ambassador of Flanders, Saxafabra where he has a function of artistic director.

In 2004 Cezariusz Gadzina, as a first polish saxophonist, recorded with Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra “Amadeus” conducted by Agnieszka Duczmal, first polish saxophone concerto – Concertino by Roman Palester written in 1938 and lost during the Second World War

Cezariusz Gadzina plays many concerts with his Jazz Trio and Jazz Quartet. Every summer he teaches in Zamosc –Poland during Master classes organised by Ministry of Polish Culture.

In 2008 Cezariusz Gadzina established European Saxophone Ensemble (www.esax.eu) and became it artistic director. The European Saxophone Ensemble is honoured to have the title of “Cultural Ambassador of European Union” It consists of twelve young players from different European countries.
